The namesake of our kennel comes from a quirky sled dog named Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, or "Badonkey" for short. This girl was short in stature with a big 'ol booty to power her down the trail. We got Badonkey as a yearling as her extra shy personailty wasn't really jiving with her musher at the time. After some time, some (forced) snuggles and figuring out her love of shredded cheese, the painfully shy Badonkey grew to be super fun, affectionate, and quirky dog. Badonkey had a genetic condition that took her from us way too soon, but she made a lasting impression. Hence the kennel slogan was born, "we may not be here for a long time, but we are here for a good time". Having fun with these dogs, in this life, in this sport is our top priority at HTK.
